The Brooklyn Children's Center Youth Resource Center is a peer-run youth drop-in and resource center serving the community of Brooklyn and surrounding communities. The Youth Resource Center will serve as a drop-in center and a mobile support team to youth who access the other services at Brooklyn Children's Center and the surrounding community.

Oversee all aspects of the Youth Resource Center program. Provide task and administrative supervision of the other staff at the Drop-In Center. Form linkages with other service providers within the Brooklyn Children's Center (BCC) campus and elsewhere in Brooklyn. Create and organize social marketing campaign to inform the greater Brooklyn community about the services offered at the BCC Youth Resource Center. Coordinate and support facilitation of support groups and advisory groups held at BCC. Provide direct peer support as needed, particularly in complex situations. Attend senior staff meetings on the BCC campus as necessary. Maintain office hours for drop-in counseling.

The Program Director will be a young adult who has had emotional and/or behavioral challenges and experience receiving services from the children's mental health or other child-serving systems. The Program Director will have taken and completed any of the following trainings--Youth Advocate Basic Training, YOUTH POWER's "Getting Started-Introductory Advocacy Trainings for Youth and Young People", Family Network Training, or Just The Basics Advocate Training.

A Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience working in a peer advocacy/support position or Associate's degree (or equivalent credits) and 4 years of experience working in a peer advocacy/support position are strongly preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
